This is a rare plate of fossil echinoderms. This specimen was found in the crinoid layers of Crawfordsville, Indiana. The rarest fossil on the plate is a nice Metablastus with long stem. Blastoids from Crawfordsville are very rare, and ones with this much stem are hardly ever found. On the left side of the plate there is a nice brittlestar, Agnaster gregarius. The long, flowing arms are easily seen. Also on the slab, there are two Platycrinites brevinodus crinoids, and a gastropod, Platyceras equilateralis. All of these specimen are naturally positioned on the squared matrix plate. This is a very unusual and unique assemblage of Mississippian organisms preserved together.
