Here is a very fine specimen of Paravascoceras carteri from the Cretaceous of Nigeria. The ammonite has been removed from the surrounding matrix - both sides of the cephalopod have good preservation. This ammonite is very 3-dimensional and exhibits great detail. The small, inner whorls of this thick ammonite are very nicely displayed. The suture pattern of the ammonite is well defined. This is an excellent specimen of this Cretaceous ammonite from an interesting area of the world.
