This is an unusual echinoderm fossil. It is an Edriophus bigsbyi, an edrioasteroid, from Ontario, Canada. This specimen is inflated and exhibits great detail. The five, slightly curving ambulacra are very nicely displayed. The interambulacra areas are very tightly articulated. The over-all plate structure of this edrioasteroid is fantastic. The cream-colored fossil contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. It is beautifully centered on the squared plate of limestone. This is an exceptional specimen of this primitive echinoderm from the Ordovician of Canada.
