Here is a very rare fossil worm. This is Selkirkia willoughbyi from the Marjum Formation of Utah. This genus of priapulid worm has also been found in the famous Burgess Shale of Canada. This worm is large and very distinct. The beautiful coloration of the fossil is totally natural. The fossil worm is well positioned on the squared plate of shale that is cracked, but contains a complete agnostid trilobite, which is a very unusual association. This is a unique specimen of a fossil worm from the Middle Cambrian.
