This is a very nice horseshoe crab fossil. It is a large Mesolimulus walchi from the famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. Horseshoe crabs and dragonflies are probably the most sought-after fossils from this site. This specimen is complete and has good color and contrast. The crab is very inflated and has nice detail. The arthropod is almost perfectly centered on the natural-edged plate of lithographic limestone that also contains an unusual ammonite. This is a collectible example of this very recognizable fossil from the ''Age of the Dinosaurs''.
