This is a plate of five Devonian brachiopods positioned on a plate of matrix. They are Mucrospirifer sp. from the famous quarry at Sylvania, Ohio. The "winged" brachiopods are very 3-dimensional and exhibit nice detail. Both valves of each brachiopod are intact. This is an interesting presentation of brachiopods from the Silica Shale.
