This is an extremely rare fossil. It is a complete scorpion from the famous Santana Formation of Brazil. This amazing arachnid lived during the Cretaceous Period, at the same time as the Dinosaurs! This scorpion has great natural coloration and is extremely detailed - the claws are easily seen and the tail is curled and ready to strike! It is incredibly rare in the fossil record to find a scorpion this complete and well preserved. This is a fabulous example of the most sought-after invertebrate from the Santana Formation.
