Here is an interesting plate of brachiopods from the Devonian of Oklahoma. These 3-dimensional specimens are Orthostrophia strophomemoides. The brachiopods have both valves present and exhibit fine detail. The coarse plications and fine growth lines of the brachiopods are easily seen. There is also a cephalon from a trilobite, Paciphacops campbelli, present on the plate. The fossils have good color and contrast. They are nicely positioned on the natural plate of matrix. This is a very attractive brachiopod/trilobite specimen from the Lower Devonian.
