Here is an amazing multiple plate of Lituites littuus from the Ordovician of China. This strange-looking cephalopod grows in a coiled pattern at the beginning and then straightens out. There are seven specimens on the rectangular slab of matrix - the most we have ever seen together on one rock. The cephalopods have been polished to bring out their innate beauty. They are uniquely preserved in a 3-dimensional manner, and the individual chambers of the shells are easily seen. The fossils have very nice color and great contrast. This is a very rare multiple specimen of these unique Paleozoic cephalopods.
