This is a fine specimen of Dusa monocera, a fossil shrimp, from the famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. The shrimp shows excellent detail - the antennae and legs of the shrimp are evident, the segmented carapace is well displayed, and the lobed tail is also present. The shrimp is beautifully showcased on a rectangular plate of lithographic limestone. This is an unusual fossil shrimp from one of the most famous fossil sites in the world.
