Now here is an enigmatic fossil. This is a Conularia from the Silurian of New York. There is still a lot of debate on the classification of this animal. This specimen is large and exhibits fine detail. The crenulated ''ribs'' of the fossil shell are well defined. The fossil has very good color and contrast, and its cone-like shape is easily seen. This is a very good example of this extremely unusual fossil.
