This is an excellent Cretaceous fossil from Lebanon. It is a plate with two Carpopenaeus (Shrimp) and an unidentified fish preserved. Due to political unrest, fossils from this site are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. The shrimp are well preserved and exhibit great detail. The heads, segmented bodies, and tails of the crustaceans are all clearly defined. The fish, too, is nicely showcased. The fossils have great color are wonderfully spaced on the rectangular plate of sublithographic limestone. This is an extremely displayable example of this rare fossil association from the Middle East.
