Here is a very aesthetic specimen of fossil gastropods. This is Turritella sp. from the Miocene of France. There are several beautiful specimens of this high-spired gastropod on the block of matrix. The fossils are very 3-dimensionally preserved and exhibit excellent detail. The fine ornamentation of the gastropods is nicely displayed. The white color of the fossils contrasts nicely with the sand-colored matrix. The block of matrix has a relatively flat base so the multiple gastropod specimen can be beautifully displayed. This is a very pretty multiple block of gastropods from France.
