Here is a HUGE example of a solitary coral. This is Hexagonaria gurich from the Devonian of China. The coral has been extracted from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. It has been beautifully prepared to display the unique ribbing pattern. The fossil coral is complete and even the tiny tip of the coral is intact. And at over ten inches long, it is simply huge! This is an extremely collectible example of an extra large horn coral.
