Here is a very displayable specimen of Carpopenaeus septemspinatus, a large shrimp from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. This species should not be confused with the more common Carpopenaeus callirostris. Due to political unrest, specimens from this site are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. The shrimp is complete and exhibits great detail. The tail, segmented carapace, and long legs are clearly defined. The long, slender antennae are nicely displayed - even the eye of the crustacean is easily seen. The dark brown color of the shrimp contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The crustacean is well presented in the custom=made wood frame. This is a beautiful framed specimen of an unusual fossil shrimp from Lebanon.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
