This is an excellent fossil insect. It is an unidentified winged insect from the Cretaceous of Brazil. This insect exhibits wonderful detail. The head, body, and wings of this unusual insect are well preserved and wonderfully displayed. The fossil has outstanding natural color and contrasts beautifully with the lighter-colored matrix. The insect is nicely centered on the rectangular matrix plate. This is a great example of a fossilized winged insect from the Age of the Dinosaurs.
