This is an extremely ornate fossil. It is a complete Arcinella arcinella bivalve from Sarasota, Florida. This prickly bivalve has great detail - the myriad of spines is very easily seen. The textbook shape of the bivalve is also intact. And at almost two inches across, it is a very impressive display piece. This is a collectible example of a spiny Arcinella bivalve from Florida.
