This is a highly collectible meteorite. It is a specimen of Northwest Africa 1068, a famous meteorite from Mars. NWA 1068 was found in the Sahara Desert in April of 2001. The total known weight of all recovered masses is about 1 kilogram. This meteorite is a type of Martian Shergottite called picrite, which is characterized by abundant olivine xenocrysts within a primarily low-Ca pyroxine rock.
