Here is an excellent Calycoceras wintoni from the Lower Cretaceous of Texas. This type of ammonite has coarse ribs and a very wide keel with distinct nodes positioned near the keel. This large, 3-dimensional ammonite has great detail. The inner whorls are beautifully displayed, and the intricate suture pattern is clearly defined. The ammonite has wonderful, rust-and-cream coloration that is fully natural. This is a large and very displayable example of this wide-bodied ammonite from Texas.
