This is a great display fossil. It is a large Placenticeras meeki ammonite from South Dakota. This specimen is complete and is preserved in a large concretion. The "ammolite" outer shell is still intact and has nice natural coloration. The inner whorls of the ammonite display well, which is very unusual for this type. This is a beautiful ammonite fossil from the good ol' U. S. of A.
