This is a spectacular fossil. It is a HUGE Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished for optimal display. The coiling pattern of the cepahlopod is easily seen, and the individual chambers of the ammonite are wonderfully showcased. Many of the chambers are hollow and lined with beautiful calcite crystals, like miniature geodes. The enormous size of the specimen, combined with its exquisite quality and striking golden-browm color, makes for a gorgeous exhibit. This is an eye-popping display fossil, perfect for one's home or office.
