This is a beautiful Libellula doris nymph from the Miocene of Italy. This large insect nymph exhibits wonderful detail - the head, body, and legs are all well defined. The body of the insect displays strong segmentation. The dark brown fossil contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. The insect is well presented on the natural plate of shale. This is an excellent insect nymph from the Mediterranean.
