Here is a very fine specimen of Paravascoceras carteri from the Cretaceous of Nigeria. The ammonite has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. This ammonite is extremely inflated and exhibits great detail. The small, inner whorls of this thick ammonite are very nicely displayed on both sides. The suture pattern of the ammonite is beautifully defined. This is an excellent specimen of this Cretaceous ammonite from an interesting area of the world.
