This is a very displayable plate of chambered ammonites from the Jurassic of Russia. There are two wonderful examples of Cosmoceras proniae on this slab. This type of ammonite has many, many ribs and a sharp keel. Both of the ammonites have been cut open to reveal the amazing inner chambers. The hollow chambers are lined with bright pyrite crystals - the golden coloration is just spectacular (even better than the picture)! The fossil cephalopods are beautifully showcased on top of the block of golden pyritic matrix. This is a stunning display specimen of two beautiful chambered ammonites from Russia.
