Here is a nice specimen of Aequipecten sp. from the Pliocene of Florida. This large mollusk has both valves present and tightly attached. Both sides of the specimen are free of matrix and very clean in appearance. The only matrix that is present is filling in the space between the valves. The large bivalve displays nice ornamentation. The fine growth lines are quite visible. This is a very good specimen of a fossil bivalve from Florida.
