This is a very distinct ammonite from Russia. It is a large Deshayesites deshayesi from the Jurassic Aptian Layers. This type of ammonite has a rounded keel and strong ribbing. The fossil has excellent detail and great natural color, caused by its beautiful iridescence. The ammonite is nestled in its natural block of matrix that also contains other ammonites. This is a wonderful display fossil from the Jurassic of Russia.
