Here is a very detailed insect on a plate of shale. This specimen is from the Green River Formation of Utah. In the center of the plate is a great specimen of a rare fossil cricket. This insect has excellent detail. The head, body, and long legs of the cricket are easily seen. The fossil has good color and contrast and is well positioned on the natural plate of shale. This is a fine example of a rare cricket from the Green River Shale.
