This is a spectacular fossil. It is a large Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The coiling pattern of the cephalopod is easily seen, and the individual chambers of the ammonite are beautifully showcased. The inner whorls are the most complete of any split ammonite this size that we have ever seen! Even the exterior of the ammonite has been polished for display. The large size of the specimen combined with the exquisite detail of the inner chambers make this a stunning centerpiece for any fossil collection or home decor.
