This is a gorgeous ammonite from England. It is a Caloceras johnstoni from the Lower Jurassic. This specimen has beautiful red-green iridescence that is even better in person than what the photo shows. The detail of the ammonite is excellent - the inner coils are wonderfully defined. The ammonite is preserved in the middle of a large plate of matrix - great for display! This is a fine example of this uncommon iridescent ammonite.
