This is a very nice echinoderm fossil. It is an excellent Hemiaster texanus echinoid from Texas. This fossil sea urchin is very inflated and 3-D. The textbook shape is wonderfully intact. The detail of the urchin is exceptional for this type. The urchin is still embedded in its large, natural matrix base. This is a very fine specimen of this classic Texas echinoid.
