This is a very nice multiple plate of extinct fossil arthropods. They are Eurypterus remipes from upstate New York. This unusual type of fossil animal has been designated the State Fossil of New York. This plate has three partial specimens and many parts represented. The heads, segmented bodies, paddles, and some detailed walking arms are all well preserved. The fossils have good color and contrast and are nicely displayed on the large, semi-rectangular plate of limestone. This is a very interesting, natural assemblage of these uncommon Silurian arthropods.
