Here is an unusual plate of fossils. This is a very nice multiple specimen of Discalioides sp., a fossil jellyfish. These jellyfish are from a "new" find in the Oligocene deposits of France. Jellyfish are very rare in the fossil record because of their delicate nature. There are several complete specimens and a number of partial examples on the plate. The fossil jellyfish exhibit fine detail. This is an excellent multiple specimen of an organism that is very rarely fossilized.
