This is a very unusual double specimen of edrioasteroids. These are Edriophus bigsbyi(?) from the Ordovician of Ontario. Edrioasteroids were primitive echinoderms which consisted of a flexible theca composed of numerous polygonal plates. These examples are quite distinct and exhibit fabulous detail. The five, slightly curving ambulacra of each edrioasteroid are beautifully displayed, and the interambulacral areas are tightly articulated. The over-all plate structure of these strange echinoderms is quite nice. The cream-colored fossils contrast well with the grey limestone block. This is an excellent multiple specimen of these primitive echinoderms from Canada.
