Here is a beautiful ammonite. This is Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been polished. The coiling pattern of the mollusc is quite evident and the individual chambers of the ammonite are easily seen. The septa of the cephalopod are beautifully displayed. The gorgeous, natural coloration makes for a very aesthetic specimen. Even the outside of the ammonite has been polished. The white, nacreous shell is mostly intact and exhibits some iridescent coloration. This is a very displayable ammonite from the Cretaceous of Madagascar.
