This is a great brittlestar fossil from Pennsylvania. It is a plate of Taeniaster spinosus from the famous Swatara Gap locality. A starfish with five arms from this site is a treasured find. This specimen has one complete and many partial brittlestars represented. The complete one is very large and has nice detail. The orange color, typical of Swatara Gap fossils, is fully natural. This specimen was acquired from a local collector's personal collection. This is a fabulous Ordovician brittlestar fossil from "The Gap".
