This is a beautiful brittlestar fossil. It is a large Ophioderma egertoni from the Eype Clay of Eype, England. This specimen was recently acquired from a major fossil collection. The huge (almost four inches!) brittlestar is complete with all five LONG arms intact. The 'star is extremely detailed and displays wonderfully in a very unique, aesthetic pose. The striking chocolate brown coloration is fully natural and contrasts beautifully with the golden matrix block. This is a rare, museum quality brittlestar fossil from a locality that produces very few fossils of this quality.
