Here is a very unusual edrioasteroid from the Ordovician of Canada. There is a very fine example of Isorophusella incondita on the slab. Edrioasteroids were primitive echinoderms which consisted of a flexible theca composed of numerous polygonal plates. This edrioasteroid exhibits fine detail - the outer rings of small plates are beautifully displayed, and the ambulacral plates and mouth are unusually well defined. The cream-colored fossil contrasts nicely with the squared slab of hard limestone. This is a very fine specimen of this uncommon echinoderm from Canada.
