This is a spectacular fossil. It is a huge Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This stunning ammonite has been split in half and both halves have been highly polished for optimal display. The coiling pattern of the cepahlopod is easily seen, and the individual chambers of the ammonite are beautifully showcased. Many of the chambers are hollow and lined with golden calcite crystals, like miniature geodes. The large size of the specimen (over EIGHT inches wide!), combined with its exquisite quality and striking brown, yellow, and GREEN color, makes for a gorgeous exhibit. This is a fabulous display fossil for a collection, one's home or office, or to give as a gift.
