This is a very large multiple plate of Pentremites sp. from the Mississippian of Illinois. There are 13 specimens of at least two different species of Pentremites on this plate. One type has a very short pelvis, while the other kind has an elongated pelvis. The blastoids exhibit excellent detail - the plate structures are well defined, and the ambulacra are wonderfully preserved. There is also two large horn coral in the center of the plate. The fossils are extremely 3-dimensional, and they have great natural color. The blastoids are nicely composited on the large plate of matrix. This is a very interesting assemblage of fossils from the Ridenhower Formation.
