This is a fine double specimen of Pavlovia sp. from the Jurassic of Russia. This type of ammonite has a very rounded keel and extremely strong ribs that bifurcate near the shoulder of the shell. Both of the ammonites are extremely inflated and exhibit wonderful detail. The ribbing pattern of the cephalopods is easily seen, and the inner whorls are clearly defined. The fossils have good, natural color and are beautifully showcased on the sculpted block of concretionary matrix. This is a wonderful display specimen of a pair of Pavlovia.
