Here is an absolutely beautiful ammonite. This is a large Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished for optimal display. The individual chambers of this multi-colored ammonite are very well defined and easily seen. The large size of the cephalopod and the wonderful coloration of the mineral replacement makes for an exciting specimen. This is a very displayable ammonite for the fossil collector or an interesting objet d'art for the decorator. This spectacular ammonite would look great at home or in the office.
