Here is a very rare fossil worm. This is Selkirkia willoughbyi from the Wheeler Formation of Utah. This genus of priapulid worm has also been found in the famous Burgess Shale of Canada. This worm is very distinct. The dark coloration of the fossil is totally natural. The fossil worm is well centered on the squared plate of shale. This is an unusual specimen of a fossil worm from the Middle Cambrian.
