This is a large pair of Triassic ammonites from Greece. Triassic cephalopods are not common in the fossil record - there are only a few places in the world where they are found. This specimen contains two Gymnites incultusis ammonites, both natural to the plate. The ammonites have a smooth surface and a striking black color that contrasts wonderfully with the pinkish-red matrix. The cephalopods are well presented on the large, natural block of limestone. This is a fine specimen of two large ammonites from Greece.
