Here is an interesting pair of fossil gastropods from the Miocene of France. This is a double example of Turritella sp., a high-spired gastropod. These large gastropods are quite 3-dimensional and exhibit wonderful detail. The fine ornamentation of the fossils is clearly defined. The fossil snails have great color and contrast and are well positioned on the block of sandstone matrix. This is a very displayable double specimen of this classic Miocene gastropod from France.
