This is a very nice horseshoe crab fossil. It is a large Mesolimulus walchi from the famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. Horseshoe crabs and dragonflies are probably the most sought-after fossils from this site. This specimen is complete and has very good color and contrast. The crab is very detailed and even has the ''tail drag'' preserved. The distinct arthropod is well showcased on the natural-edged plate of lithographic limestone that has dendrites around the edges and through the middle. This is a very collectible example of this extremely recognizable fossil from the ''Age of the Dinosaurs''.
