This is an absolutely stunning specimen of a Lyoceras lyghum ammonite from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This handsome, 3-dimensional ammonite has been removed from the surrounding matrix and highly polished on both sides. The intricate suture pattern is beautifully displayed and the large cream-colored ''section'' lines contrast wonderfully with the golden-brown shell of the cephalopod. The color of the ammonite, the unusual suture pattern, and the exquisite detail make this an extremely collectible specimen.
