Here is a very nice Meekoceras gracilitatis from the Lower Triassic of Nevada. This specimen was acquired from an old fossil collection. This type of ammonite has a smooth shell and a very distinct split keel. This large, 3-dimensional ammonite has great detail. The inner whorls are beautifully displayed, and the surface of the shell is clearly defined. The ammonite has natural brown coloration and nice overall shape. This is a very fine example of this unusual ammonite from Nevada.
