This is a nice specimen of Cenoceras from the Jurassic of England. This specimen was recently acquired from an old collection - the date on it reads ''9/22/78''! The nautiloid has been extracted from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. This type of cephalopod has almost no ribbing and a round keel. The fossil is quite 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. This is a fine example of a Cenoceras nautiloid from England. (Specimen is MUCH better than it shows in the photo.)
