Here is a very nice Mammoth tooth from Siberia, Russia. It is from the Woolly Mammoth, Mammuthus primigenius. This tooth is quite large and substantial, definitely from an adult mammoth. The grinding surface of the tooth is very well preserved - the plate structure is clearly defined. Most of the long roots of the tooth are intact. The tooth has nice color and texture. And it is HEAVY - definitely a fossil tooth. This is a very fine example of a large mammoth tooth from the Ice Age of Russia.
