This is a very attractive ammonite. It is a large Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The coiling pattern of the mollusk is easily seen, and the individual chambers are wonderfully defined. Many of the chambers are filled with sparkling yellow calcite crystals. This is a very displayable specimen of Cleoniceras from Madagascar.
